1980's Toys

There's something to be said about the box art of the 80's. Where the 1970's toy box art mainly focused on showing happy kids playing with awesome playsets, the 1980's brought in some talented artists to spark our imaginations about what a toy could be. It's kind of a lost art if you think about it. These boxes were not well kept, if kept at all.  Comic book collectors were already starting to safeguard their investments, but the person who would save the toy box and keep it mint was few and far between. These boxes were also printed on lower quality material, because the intent was to rip it open and get to the toy. I mean check out some of these amazing examples!!!

I guess what we're saying is we are appreciators of the lost box art of the 1980's, which is why we are always looking for private collections or warehouse finds that have Mint on Card (MOC) figures and Mint in Box (MIB) vehicles and playsets. We'll only ever put items still on card or still with box on the site, but we'l also have open figures and playsets from the 19080's if you want to stop by the store. You can also contact us if you are looking for a specific set, because we may have it hiding in the back even though it's not listed here.

Here are our favorite toy lines from the 1980's that we're always buying/selling:

  • G.I. Joe
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
  • M.A.S.K.
  • Transformers
  • He-Man Masters of the Universe
  • Thundercats
  • Dino Riders
  • Silverhawks
  • and More!
